EX- Chronic Dieter
I remember being in 7th grade, my best friend would sneak me away (between classes )to the nurses room and we would weigh ourselves. At that time, I thought it was a fun thing, I wasn't influenced by any diet structure at home or in my skating environment. She later developed an eating disorder that sent her to the hospital for a few months. I HAD NO IDEA. Hindsight is 20/20 isn't it? Looking back, I recognize when we stopped going to the mall for our "usuals" which were a Maple stick (for me) and a honey crueller (for her). She became obsessed with running- but I just thought she wanted to make the track team. Only eating carrots at lunch and falling asleep in class was expected.
Fast forward, until now, my daughters are in Jr. high and the are even more exposed to rigid beauty standards (thank you social media) but it's my mission to help guide them through body respect, and self compassion and to teach them there is more to life than going on another diet. I am extremely passionate about health and inspiring other women to feel their BEST. I help women out there who are struggling and TIRED of the restrict/binge cycle. They feel helpless on a day to day basis because they are surrounded by the do's and don'ts when it comes to healthy eating and enjoying life. I've been there! I get it! And I am here to say you can look and feel your best without another meal plan or food list or restricting carbs.
After years of being a macro counting coach, I realized NONE of that was sustainable. People are different with different bodies, preference and lifestyles. I am about breaking through the diet culture food rules and learning how to trust our bodies again.
